This website was designed with the intention to educate the public on the cost-benefits and effects of fluoride on the body, specifically when integrated in community water sources.

Purpose
Fluoride Facts was created to provide factual information to the community. Based on a survey* conducted about general knowledge of water fluoridation, very few people know what it is and how it effects communities.

This data projects that the majority of respondents have limited knowledge on water fluoridation or its benefits. Many responses linked supposed negative effects to water fluoridation, including:
"I heard someone say that the fluoride makes us dependent on it."
"Too much is dangerous."
"It lead to conspiracy theories about communists poisoning the water supply in the 60s."
"It can alter development of teeth."
"[It causes] bone cancer, brain damage."
"Instead you could get a pH level filter that would make the water cleaner and cause less tooth decay."
"Fluoride build-up on the pineal gland has been linked to onset of neurodegenerative diseases."
These responses exemplify the need for accurate information on the topic of water fluoridation - information of which Fluoride Facts is designed to provide.
